		Jones Tree and Lawn has been serving the Denver metro area and surrounding foothill communities since 1988. However, our "roots" in the tree care industry extend much deeper. The president of the company, Kevin Jones, started in the horticulture industry in 1975 at Warren Occupational Technical Center in Lakewood Colorado. After completing the landscape horticulture course at WOTC, Kevin went on to graduate from the University of Idaho with a BS degree in Plant Science, Major in landscape Horticulture in 1982. During high school and while attending college he worked in the various industries of horticulture, green house, rose production, nurseries, and eventually found his calling in arboriculture. After graduation he returned to Denver and worked for a large tree company for the next six years. At the end of 1987 it was time to move on. With a little bit of money, a lot of determination and a good following of loyal clients Kevin and his partner Tom Goldtrap started Jones' Landscape Care Company in January, 1988. Since that time, the company has grown and evolved. The partnership became a corporation in 1992. In 1996 they purchased their present office and land in Arvada. In 1998 they purchased Denver Forestry Tree and Plant Health Company, which was started in 1918. In 1999 the Corporation chose to change the business name to Jones Tree and Lawn, Inc. "We chose our original name Jones' Landscape Care, with the intention that it would describe our services as all inclusive to landscape plant maintenance." However, we found that most everyone thought we were "landscaping contractors" which is not what we specialize in . A name says a lot so we thought it best to change our name to describe what we do best: maintain trees and lawns." Kevin and Tom are both ISA Certified Arborists and are Qualified Supervisors through the Colorado Department of Agriculture for pesticide application. The Company maintains a "Good Standing" with the Colorado Better Business Bureau. Kevin serves on the Horticulture Advisory Committee board at Warren Tech. and has taught educational seminars at the Colorado ProGreen Exposition. Dedicated to their profession and industry, both owners and employees attend industry educational seminars and workshops and hold in house training sessions in order to stay up to date with ever changing tree and lawn care techniques, laws and pest control products. We feel that the more we know about our profession is more information we can pass on to our clients. The more our clients know about their landscape makes it easier to work together with realistic expectations and goals.
